This is my first post back since 2019. I did develop BUILDR between then and now but this is my first blog post since then. I am starting this back up to document my life’s journey. I have enjoyed documenting each day using Notion but would like to post my daily activity for others to read. This will be a way to share things I learn while raising my kids, spending time with my family, taking care of my house, my outdoor hobbies (cycling, running, camping, & bikepacking) and my sort-of-new hobby, coding.
Last summer I made the decision to make a conscious effort to immerse myself in the world of coding and software development. I have always said if I could go back to college I would study finance/accounting and computer science. Then one day it hit me, I don’t need to go back to start learning how to code. I didn’t learn all the Excel formulas in college. I can Google my way to becoming a software developer. So, since last summer I have worked on a few projects, listened to endless SAAS podcasts and watched too many YouTube videos. Purchasing a subscription to GitHub Co-Pilot in October has been a game changer. It has made it fun to develop quick scripts and debug code I am trying to write. With the little time I have outside of my family, GitHub Co-Pilot has significantly reduced the time to build something and allows me to better utilize the little time that I have. GitHub Co-Pilot has made coding more fun for a non-coder.
tl;dr More posts to come revolving everything that is happening in my life.
