When it comes to cycling bib shorts with pockets there are a few other options than just the cargo shorts from Rapha. And, these won’t cost an arm and a leg. This new pocket design that has quickly grown in popularity had to be modeled after women’s yoga pants. But I’m glad they were.
I’m not exactly sure which apparel company came out first with the mesh pocket design (probably Rapha), but they have transformed adventure rides, cafe rides and just overall general riding. The pockets offer a great place to store gels, your phone, bananas or anything else that fits.
If you want a style similar to Rapha’s cargo shorts, check out the bib shorts from Spexcel. Spexcel has now been around for a while, selling online through AliExpress. A lot of their designs mimic the ones from Rapha, but they retail for a fraction of the price.
Another store that has popped up recently on AliExpress is Pimmer Performance. Their style of cycling clothing is similar MAAP and Rapha. Be sure to check out what they have to offer. The bib shorts below sell for $35 and include rear and side pockets.
The other brands listed below are what I could find during a Google search. I’ll add more as more brands add pockets to their product line.
